Material
There are five types of silk: Charmeuse silk,Mulberry silk, Tussah silk, Habotai silk and Duppoini silk. Mulberry silk is the highest quality one and it is also the most expensive silk. Grades
Silk quality is graded A, B, or C, and further categorized by number 2A, 3A, 4A, 5A, 6A, with 6A referencing the highest quality. Grade 6A silk has become a popular choice for people with discerning taste. So checking the grade when purchasing silk bedding is a good way to ensure the quality.
Momme
Momme weight is a commonly recognized measurement of the weight of silk. The bigger the number is, the thicker the silk is. Commonly it ranged from 12 to 30 momme (used in a silk pillowcase or sheets). Typically greater than 14 for bedding is a ideal momme weight. 20 momme to 28 momme is considered midweight, with anything above 28 momme is categorized as heavy.
